We need to better understand what writers in our community want to support their careers.

Between the two of us, Elisa and I have been working in writing, editing, marketing, and bookselling for more than 20 years. Read more about our team.

Our definitions of career support come from the experiences we’ve had and continue to have. But our experiences aren’t universal. Before we design programs intended to support writers in their career development, we need to better understand what writers in our community want that support to look like.

We hope you’ll tell us.

We have our own ideas of the types of career support an organization like Amplify Writers could provide: query writing workshops, or maybe cohorts of writers all submitting books to agents–shoring each other up, cheering each other on. It could be shared resources, like lists of literary magazines to subscribe to or fellowships and residencies to apply for. Maybe it’s networking events or affinity groups. What kind of community do you want to build?

We’re excited to build it with you.
